Our recycling service focuses on concrete and asphalt only. Other materials such as hazardous waste, propane tanks, and contaminated materials must be handled separately. For details on safe disposal, see the next FAQ.

Hazardous waste, propane tanks, and contaminated materials must be handled through the City of Toronto’s Household Hazardous Waste program, which includes four drop-off depots and the Toxic Taxi home pickup service.

Electronics such as computers, phones, and batteries are not accepted in our bins. Organizations like the Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) may be able to help. The ERA is a non-profit committed to reducing electronic waste by recycling and repurposing used devices.
